Have you checked your click through rate lately?

If you are getting hundreds and thousands of impressions, then the click through rate, (or as us PPC peeps like to call it, CTR), is a good indicator of whether your ad copy is performing well.

What is a good CTR?

But don’t be tempted to review only your account CTR.

CTR are relative. But in general, shopping, display and search traffic behave differently. And so you would expect different ‘good’ CTR.

For example, looking at search traffic. Did you know your brand and generic traffic behave differently? Brand traffic tend to have a CTR of >25%. And in my experience, generic traffic tend to have a CTR of anything from 0.05% to 5%.
